NY Assembly Speaker Heastie calls for patience, trust in impeachment investigation of Cuomo

ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) — The top Democrat in the New York State Assembly is calling for patience and trust in the impeachment investigation of Governor Cuomo.

On Saturday, Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie said he trusts Attorney General Leticia James and the Assembly Judiciary Committee as they investigate the governor.

Cuomo was questioned by the AG’s office last weekend. He’s under fire for allegedly making inappropriate comments toward some of his aides as well as questions about his reporting of coronavirus deaths in nursing homes and over his book deal.

Heastie said he is going to wait for the committee’s work to be done before he comments.
