NYSP issue gift card scam warning

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — New York State Police continue to get complaints about various scams, asking people for money in the form of gift cards.

All of the scammers tell victims there is an urgent need for them to send money right away in the form of gift cards.

If you or someone you know was a victim, call the company the gift card was purchased from and let them know the card was used in a scam.

There may be a chance the money wasn’t taken yet.
