Penfield man sentenced to 8 months for conspiracy to commit wire fraud

PENFIELD, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Penfield man will spend the next eight months in prison for bilking diamond investors out of hundreds of thousands of dollars back in 2016.
Brian Schumacher convinced two out-of-state investors, to each wire his company, Integra Diamonds, $100,000.
Schumacher claimed the money would be used to purchase diamonds in Africa and would result in a big return on their investment, but the first victim lost $70,000 and the second lost all $100,000.
Schumacher was also ordered to pay restitution.
