Pittsford celebrates pride month

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WHEC) – Community members in Pittsford Celebrated "Pittsford Pride" on Sunday.

The event celebrated the "lgbtqia plus community" in honor of pride month at the Spiegel Community Center. There was a short activity for those who attended, a walk to the Port of Pittsford Park.

"In Pittsford we want to make sure everyone feel welcome and included and to spread diversity and educational awareness and so the way to do that is to get everyone together and to hopefully bring awareness to the lbgtq community," Tharaha Thavakumar, of Pittsford CommUNITY” said.

There were also speakers, entertainment and a celebration in the Port of Pittsford Park at the gazebo.
