Police: 2 shot less than a half-mile apart on Dewey Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) —Rochester Police say two people are recovering from gunshots after two shootings, less than a half a mile apart in 100 block of Dewey Avenue.

The first shooting happened Monday night around 10:15 p.m. When officers got to the scene, they found a Rochester woman who had been shot at least once in the upper body.

Just a few hours later, around 1:06 a.m.police again went to Dewey Avenue, this time, near Lorimer Street. Officers there found a Rochester man with a gunshot to his lower body.

Both victims were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and are both expected to survive.

Police are still working to figure out if the incidents are connected. RPD has made no arrests, anyone with information is asked to call 911.
