Police: Arrest made after man robs woman, holds her against her will on Rochester’s northwest side

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Police have made an arrest after they say a man held a woman against her will during a gunpoint robbery on Rochester’s northwest side.

It happened at around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29 near Tacoma Street and Pierpont Street, not far from Dewey Avenue.

The victim, a 22-year-old Rochester woman, had her cash, personal items and clothing taken from her. Police found her with a blanket that a concerned resident nearby brought her.

Police say the suspect took everything from her at gunpoint, but she was not injured. Though he held her against her will, police say she was able to escape and a concerned resident called 911 for her.

Tuesday, police announced they arrested Brice Thomas, 31, of Rochester and a brief pursuit and with the help of the US Marshall’s Service Task Force and charged him with second and third degree criminal possession of a weapon, first degree robbery, fourth degree grand larceny and unlawful imprisonment.

Police say Thomas is scheduled to be arraigned in Rochester City Court on Wednesday.
