Police: Boy, 17, shot at Emerson and Santee Streets in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester police are looking for the suspect who they say shot a teen near the intersection of Emerson and Santee Streets in the northwest section of the city.

RPD Captain Ryan Tauriello tells News10NBC officers responded to a call for shots fired in the area around 4:20 p.m. Saturday. The 17-year-old victim suffered a gunshot wound to the lower body. He was driven to Rochester General Hospital by a private vehicle. The unidentified boy’s injuries are not life-threatening, according to Captain Tauriello.

There are no suspects in custody. Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1.

Santee Street – which had been closed between Emerson Street and Curtis Street – has since reopened.
