Police: Canandaigua man sought sexual activity from undercover officer posing as teenager

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Canandaigua man is facing a charge of attempted criminal sex act

Police say Robert Schaefer tried to lure who he thought was a 14-year-old on social media for sexual activity, but he actually met a Canandaigua Police detective.

The 56-year-old was arrested Thursday and taken to the Ontario County Jail, where he was arraigned.
