Police chase spans multiple counties, ends in Clarendon

CLARENDON, N.Y. (WHEC) — Three men are facing charges as a result and cocaine was found in the stolen car.

The chase started when a driver sped away after a DEC officer tried to pull him over.

According to Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies, the car continued to speed into Orleans County, even at one point going over spike strips. Eventually, the car crashed in Clarendon.

One passenger, Jason Schmeer of Rochester, was taken into custody. The other two men, Zachary Hursh of Rochester and Alexander Scheg of Byron ran off and were found nearby.

The Honda Civic they were in was a stolen car out of Rochester. There was cocaine found inside the car.
