ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – A man is dead after a shooting in the City of Rochester’s East End bar district.

Rochester Police say they were patrolling the area near the East and Alexander intersection when they heard gun shots coming from East Avenue and Lawrence Street, about a block away. When they responded, they found 24-year-old Yasier Clark with a gun shot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say their initial investigation shows Clark and an unknown suspect might have had gotten into an argument before things escalated. The identity of the victim has not been released as RPD is still working to notify family members.

The Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation — anyone with information is asked to call the unit at (585) 428-7157, or Crime Stoppers at (585) 423-9300, or email them at MajorCrimes@cityofrochester.gov.
