Police investigating rollover crash, shots fired

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police are looking into a rollover crash that included gunshots Thursday morning.

Crews went to the scene at South Goodman Street near Pearl Street around 2 a.m. for the report of a person trapped and found a car flipped over. Nobody was trapped, and there were no injuries to report.

News10NBC Photojournalist Al Fulton reported seeing bullet casings near the scene. Witnesses also told Fulton they heard several gunshots, then a loud boom.

Police confirmed shots were fired, but nobody was hit by bullets.

About a block away, another car was seen abandoned in the middle of the road, police confirm that car was also involved in the incident, but have not said how.

To be clear, police have not said if anybody is in custody.

As of 9:53 p.m. Thursday, Rochester Police say they still don’t have anyone in custody, and they have no new information to provide. News10NBC will share any updates we receive.
