Police: Man dies after Thruway rollover crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— State Police say a Buffalo area man is dead just days after he was ejected in a rollover crash on Thruway near Henrietta Tuesday morning.

Troopers say 33-year-old Dustin Jones, of West Seneca, died of his injuries.

The crash happened along the Thruway near the Henrietta exit just before 7 a.m. Three other people, including Jones, were ejected. A one-year-old child was fastened into a car seat and was not ejected.

Troopers say 43-year-old William Shanahan, also of West Seneca, was driving east on the Thruway when for some unknown reason, he started to drift off the road. He then overcorrected, and the SUV rolled over several times.

At last check, a 33-year-old woman from West Seneca had serious injuries. The one-year-old and an eight-year-old are expected to survive.

Shannan was treated for minor injuries, and charges are pending. Police did not announce any charges in the latest update.
