ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The superintendent of the Rochester City School District is responding for the first time to complaints of harassment against her.

Over a week ago, we learned that an internal complaint was filed against three RCSD employees, including Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Lesli Meyers Small, by another District employee.

The RCSD retained Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP to serve as outside counsel to oversee an independent and thorough investigation of the facts underlying the complaint.

On Monday, Myers-Small’s attorney released a statement:

Over a week ago, President White notified me that the Board hired outside legal counsel to conduct an investigation relative to a staff complaint. I assured him that I would fully cooperate in the investigation. As this is an active investigation, I have been advised not to comment so the investigation can proceed in an impartial manner. I look forward to a thorough and expedient process, so this matter can come to a close and we can all focus on our student scholars.
