Report: Rochester ranked as top 10 best mid-sized city for businesses

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Rochester isn’t just home to the Garbage Plate and Kodak, it’s been named a top 10 mid-sized city for business climate.

That’s according to a recent report from Business Facilities, a publication focused on economic development, which ranked Rochester at the number nine spot.

The ranking is based on growth potential, talent pipeline, quality of life, and affordability. It cited new operations like Panasonic, Li-Cycle, Greenlight Biosciences, Amazon, ProAmpac, Plug Power, and Security Risk Advisors coming to town. Additionally, since 2019, the city has seen 88 "project wins" that have brought in $1.62 billion and more than 5,140 jobs.

Rochester was the only city in New York to be named to the top 10.
