RGE: Several hundred without power across the Rochester area
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Several hundred homes are without power across the Rochester area Thursday morning.
According to Rochester Gas and Electric’s outage list, a majority of those in the dark live in Chili. Over in Ontario County, Victor had more than 200 without power, and a few people in Geneseo, Livingston County have also experienced an outage.
Power issues caused the Fairport Central School District to delay the opening of its Minerva DeLand school by at least three hours.
The outages come as heavy rains flow through the area. News10NBC declared a Yellow Alert Thursday morning in response.

Due to a power outage in the Village of Fairport, Minerva DeLand will be on a 3 HOUR DELAY today, Thursday. Busses will begin routing MD students following elementary school drop off.

As of right now, crews are either assessing the situation, or giving a restoration time estimate of at least 9:30 a.m.
