ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) is creating a School of Performing Arts on campus.
The goal is to offer additional creative opportunities for students who wish to pursue their passions in performance while majoring in a range of other fields.
The new school will be housed within RIT’s College of Liberal Arts beginning on July 1.
A national search is underway for a director.
RIT is making more updates to integrate the performing arts on campus, including a large black-box theater, dance instruction and performance studio, musical rehearsal studio, and numerous individual practice rooms in the Student Hall for Exploration and Development set to open next year.
