ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester City Council member is reacting to sexual comments made about her during a podcast.

The response comes after a discussion on "Politically Correcting with Jose Peo," where the men on the show are talking about what Mary Lupien would do sexually with one of Peo’s colleagues—Peo is also a member of the City Council.

Peo then holds his hands up saying, "Mary, I’m out of this."

News10NBC reached out to Lupien for comment. She responded with the following:

"I’m deeply disappointed in my colleague. It’s a violation of my humanity to reduce me to a body part, to an act. It dishonors me both personally and professionally. Now, more than ever, we need to uphold the rights and dignity of women – especially those who have the courage to speak their mind.“

News10NBC also reached out to Peo. He responded with the following:

"Some of the most bigoted and hateful speech I’ve ever received has come directly from Mary Lupien’s social media, whether from her or her faction,so if she wishes to start censoring hurtful speech, then I very much look forward to her being a shining example of it."

We’ve reached out to the president of the City Council, Miguel Melendez for comment and are waiting to hear back.
