ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – On this week’s episode of Rochester In Focus, we go in-depth with Rochester City Council member Willie Lightfoot and Patricia Williams-McGahee, who is the co-creator and organizer of the Community Total Health & Wellness Fair and initiative. Lightfoot and Williams-McGahee are overseeing the fair at La Marketa International Plaza on August 20, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., where vendors will offer services like health screenings, legal services, housing, and more.

As part of the initiative, they’re conducting a community-wide survey to determine which “gap services” are missing from which neighborhoods across Monroe County. If you live in Monroe County, they want to hear from you. Take the survey here,

Also on today’s episode, anti-violence activist Clay Harris tells us about a festival-style event called “Stop The Violence: It’s a Family Affair” at the Highland Bowl on Saturday, August 13 from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., and Sunday, August 14 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. There will be food, music, poetry, dancing, face painting, bounce houses, pony rides, and a talent contest with a cash prize of $30,000.
