Rochester launching composting pilot program
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The City of Rochester is launching a composting pilot program.
Roc City Compost aims to reduce the amount of food waste in landfills by collecting food waste from residents.
Participants will receive a countertop container and a large bucket.
Drop off locations include Genesee Valley Park at 131 Elmwood Ave. Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to noon and Saturdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Cobbs Hill Park at 100 Norris Drive Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.
The drop-off locations will start collecting on July 14.
