Rochester man named USA Boxing National Resident Coach
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – USA Boxing announced the hiring of Timothy Nolan of Rochester as the USA Boxing National Resident Coach on Monday.
“We are excited to promote Coach TJ into this position as our National Resident Coach,” stated Matt Johnson, USA Boxing High Performance Director. “He has been working within our system for a few years now, and we’re confident that he’ll continue to grow in this new role as he supports USA Boxing’s High Performance Teams for years to come.”
Nolan’s main roles as the National Resident Coach are to assist in the preparation of USA Boxing’s High Performance Teams and the integration and development of national coaches into the High Performance program.
“I am thankful to have the privilege to be able to participate with the best amateur boxers in the world,” said Nolan. “I am very excited to provide my assistance to Team USA under the direction of Head Coach Billy Walsh with an aligned vision of the overall mission to consistently place USA boxers at the top of the podium.”
Nolan brings over 10 years of coaching experience to the role, including being the head coach and owner of Rochester Fight Factory in Rochester, N.Y. He is also a certified cut man and a USA Boxing bronze level coach.
