Rochester man sentenced to 10 years for violent carjacking

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Rochester man will spend the next 10 years behind bars for a violent carjacking.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, in 2019, 21-year-old Jacob Loyd stole a car on Gothic Street, after hitting one of the occupants in the head with a gun.

Police recovered the car a few hours later on Alphonse Street.

The radio and hubcaps had been taken from the car.

Loyd was taken into custody a short time later with 15 bags of cocaine and a revolver in his possession.
