Rochester Police: 1 person in custody, suspect still on the run following chase/crash

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Rochester Police say a person is in custody, but another is still on the run following a chase that ended in a crash Thursday morning.

Police said the situation started around 2 a.m. when they went to a call for a man with a gun on Parsells Avenue, but couldn’t find the man. A short time later, RPD spotted him in a car near East Main Street and Alexander Street, but when officers tried to pull the car over, they say it drove off.

A chase started, but ended in the area of Chili Avenue and Depew Street when the car hit a curb. The driver stayed at the scene and was taken into custody without incident, but his passenger ran off and still can’t be found.

Nobody was hurt and no RPD cars were involved in the crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
