ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe Upper School will host the first flag football game in Section V history against the Rochester Academy Charter School Wednesday evening.

All-girls flag football teams are starting up in the Rochester area thanks to grant money from the Buffalo Bills, Nike, and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association is making this opportunity possible.

There are two teams made up of female students from freshman to senior year of high school.

Teams will play six to eight games and have a chance to play in the championship at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo. The season will run until the end of May.

Wednesday’s historic game starts at 5 p.m.
