Senator Stewart-Cousins is latest senator to test positive for Covid

ALBANY, N.Y. (WHEC) – New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins tweeted today that she tested positive for Covid.

"I’ve tested positive for COVID-19, but fortunately, I’m feeling in good health and grateful to be vaccinated AND boosted," Stewart-Cousins said. "I strongly encourage you to protect yourself and your family by doing the same."

Stewart-Cousins is the latest New York elected official to test positive for the virus as COVID-19 cases increase in parts of the New York City area. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Sunday announced he had also tested positive for COVID-19.
