ROCHESTER N.Y. (WHEC) — A Tuesday night shooting in Rochester caused a crash that put a woman in the hospital. Violence in that area also led to a man being hospitalized from a gunshot wound and bullets striking a home.

Police said a 19-year-old woman was driving on Santee Street, just west of Dewey Avenue, around 10:15 p.m. when she heard the sound of gunfire. The sound spooked her and she crashed into another car.

At least one woman was involved in the crash and is expected to survive.

Not long after, a 20-year-old man who had been shot around Santee Street was taken to the hospital. Police said he will recover as well.

When officers responded to the street, they also found out about a house nearby that was hit with gunfire with an adult and two children were inside. None of them were injured.

Rochester police are asking anyone with information to call 911.
