ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Spectrum Mobile’s newly converted mobile call center in Rochester is looking for employees.

The company held a drive-thru hiring event on Thursday.

The positions not only come with loads of extra benefits such as 401ks and health care but also come with a competitive hourly wage of $18 per hour.

Spectrum Human Resources Generalist MacArthur Davis said the new call center has 190 open positions. The newly hired employees will handle calls for billing from 41 states all across the country.

Davis said so far, several job seekers have taken advantage of this job fair but just like so many other companies it’s still a struggle to hire enough people.

"Part of that is just doing the job fair,” Davis said. “We’ve also looked at increasing how much we offer our employees, and we’re also touting a lot especially today with these guys what the benefits are."

"I guess my job is a little bit stressful lately, so I just want something different, and something, a different atmosphere cause lately it seems the atmosphere just gets toxic, and I don’t want to be around that environment anymore," said job seeker Brittany B.

Spectrum told News10NBC it will interview all interested job seekers virtually as part of their covid safety procedures.
