ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — New York State Police and other law enforcement agencies issued more than 26,000 tickets during their St. Patrick’s Day crackdown this year.

The campaign ran from March 11 through March 21—two consecutive weekends since St. Patrick’s Day was on Wednesday.

With St. Patrick’s Day Wednesday, troopers are keeping a close eye on the road to reduce alcohol and drug-related traffic crashes.

State Troopers also arrested 381 people for DWI and investigated more than 1,500 crashes.
