Strong Museum to offer free admission in celebration of Juneteenth

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) – The Strong Museum will open up for free admission on Saturday, June 18 as they celebrate Juneteenth.

In addition, Strong will also have performances and activities promoting knowledge and appreciation of Black history and culture. Those are slated to happen between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on June 18.

The events are a small part of a larger, community celebration at MLK Park.

The museum will also have free parking.

Juneteenth marks the day the word finally reached the last enslaved people in Texas that they were free.
