ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Uniting and Healing Through Hope of Monroe County is continuing to hold events in its push to end violence in Rochester.

The campaign is holding a men’s march on Saturday, followed by a family cookout and concert.

Organizer Clay Harris said he believes young boys need to know and learn from their fathers, to not spread violence in their community.

"We have a lot of different speakers who are going to speak to the men, and the young men and the boys about what it is to be a man, to be a young man and to grow up and be a productive citizen and how to get involved to stop this violence," Harris said.

Presumptive mayor-elect Malik Evans will be one of those speakers.

The event will be held at the Ark of Covenant Church at 60 Lorimer St. in Rochester

Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and the workshop and seminar will take place afterward from 9 a.m. to noon. The march will be from noon to 1 p.m. and the family cookout and concert will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jones Park, across the street from the church.
