Upstate NY Fort Drum soldiers aiding Afghanistan evacuations

WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WHEC) — Some Upstate New York soldiers from Fort Drum are on the front lines helping with the ongoing evacuations in Afghanistan.
The Department of Defense tweeted out a picture of the 10th Mountain Division troops defending the International Airport in Kabul

They’re part of more than 5,000 U.S. troops now on the ground to help with evacuation efforts.
The 10th Mountain Division is the most deployed unit in the U.S. Army since September 11th.
