WASHINGTON (WHEC/AP) – U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has Covid. The 71-year-old New Yorker is fully vaccinated and has had two boosters. His spokesperson says he has mild symptoms, and he will work remotely this week as the Senate is scheduled to return.

Schumer was just in Fairport on Friday celebrating the expansion of Corning Inc.

The New York Democrat will follow federal health guidelines and quarantine this week while working remotely, spokesman Justin Goodman said.

"Anyone who knows Leader Schumer knows that even if he’s not physically in the Capitol, through virtual meetings and his trademark flip phone he will continue with his robust schedule and remain in near constant contact with his colleagues," Goodman said.
