WATCH: NYPD officer saves driver from burning car
NEW YORK (NBC) —The New York City Police Department is recognizing one of its own after bodycam footage showed the officer saving a man from a burning car.
In the video posted to social media Wednesday, you can see the officer approach the crash scene back on Nov.23 in the Bronx. The officer initially uses a fire extinguisher to try to put out the flames, then — he reaches inside the car and drags the dazed driver out of his seat and away from the flames.
When seconds matter, NYPD officers are here for New Yorkers — at any cost. We’re fortunate that the driver of a vehicle engulfed in flames wasn’t seriously injured and grateful to count these heroes as NY’s Finest. pic.twitter.com/nYxNy9GvhP
