Wynonna Judd will miss Rochester Jazz Fest after death of her mother

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Organizers of the CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival have announced a schedule change for the return of the big event.

Headliner Wynonna Judd, who was scheduled to perform on June 25, has pulled out of the event, after the recent passing of her mother, Naomi, in April.

In a statement, Judd said:

"To the fans attending the Rochester International Jazz Festival on Saturday, June 25: I am writing to you to share that I am so sad to withdraw from the festival. I am taking the time I need to process the recent loss of my mother. I appreciate your outpouring of love and support, and we WILL celebrate the music again soon. I promise," said Judd.

Headlining in her place will be Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors.

Organizers say the festival will feature 21 stages, more than 1,700 performers and 335 shows. The 6th Annual Roc Juneteenth 5k Race will also return with a live jazz performance at the finish line. Organizers say thanks to a government grant music fans will get to enjoy 130 free concerts this year.
