ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — As some teachers get ready for the first day of classes on Tuesday, one educational expert is offering some advice: Be creative!

Dr. Marck Abraham formed MEA Consultants, an educational consultation company in Western New York and says teachers currently have the opportunity of a lifetime.

According to Abraham, teachers need to find new ways to keep a high level of engagement with their students, especially during this time of remote learning.

“Instead of teaching them about the circumference of a building, actually go downtown and take a video of the building,” Abraham said. “Things that you would never have an opportunity to do because of budget and all the constraints, you have an opportunity to do something that is so amazing."

He also offered some advice for students: have a no-excuse mentality. Abraham says despite the pandemic, the world goes on and school is doing the same so "you have to get educated."
