ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — We’ve received a Good question about COVID-19 in the classroom.
A viewer asked: What happens if a student or teacher in your child's classroom tests positive for COVID?
With help from the Monroe County Health Department, your school will provide you with instructions. The health department will likely recommend that your school close the classroom for at least 24 hours.
Importantly, being in the same classroom does not necessarily mean your student was exposed to the virus, so you might not get a call from the contact tracing team.
