Webster schools report zero positive COVID cases on first day of Yellow Zone testing

WEBSTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— The Webster School District is reporting some positive news regarding negative COVID tests.

Monday was the first-day local schools within the state's designated coronavirus Yellow Zone were required to start testing at least 20% of its students.


According to Superintendent Carmen Gumina, all 768 tests came back negative. Gumina reports 4300 people opted into the test, as, parental consent is required for a school to test a student.

A part of the testing guidelines was changed Sunday, and Monday, we looked at how superintendents within the Yellow Zone were adjusting.

Districts within the zone have by the end of the week to meet the state's 20% quota.
