ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Schools in the Wheatland-Chili School District are temporarily switching to fully remote learning.

A staff member in the transportation building tested positive for COVID-19, school officials said in a statement posted on the district's website

Several additional staff members are now in quarantine, and the district is unable to provide adequate transportation for students.

"We have been instructed by Monroe County that there is no further action necessary at this time. If they deem through contract tracing that further action is necessary they would reach out to the particular individuals and inform them of next steps," Superintendent Lynda Quick said.

Schools will be closed for in-person instruction through the Thanksgiving holiday. The district intends to resume in-person instruction on Monday, Nov. 30.
