ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) —With the Labor Day weekend in the backseat, Tuesday marked back to school for several area schools, including the Aquinas Institute.

News10NBC’s Raven Brown was there Tuesday morning as grades 6, 7, and 9 started in-person classes, with the other grades set to join them Wednesday.

Like other schools — a mask policy will be in effect, and that includes universal masking when indoors for all students and staff regardless of vaccination status. But when the kids are outside — the masks can be off.

As for keeping physical distance- the plan right now is that to keep kids spaced out where possible, and during all lunch periods.

If a student gets sick or contracts COVID, the Aquinas will not offer a distance learning option.

Elsewhere, LeRoy, Dansville, Geneseo, Livonia, Bloomfield, Honeoye, and Marcus Whitman also welcomed students back.
