ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Gov. Kathy Hochul is pulling out all the stops to encourage parents to get their children vaccinated with the new "Vaccinate, Educate, Graduate" program.

She announced Tuesday the state will draw the names of 50 vaccinated children who will win a four-year scholarship to any SUNY or CUNY school including room and board and all fees.

“I want them to stop having to wear masks in schools,” Hochul said. “The key to doing that is to get them vaccinated, and now — we’ve waited a long time — finally all school-age children are eligible for the vaccine. There’s no excuse. We’ve ordered an awful lot. We have over 700,000 doses.”

Ten winners per week will be selected from Nov. 24 to Dec. 20.

Parents can enter on behalf of their eligible children here or call 1-833-697-4829.
