ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Nazareth College announced Tuesday it would be delaying the start of the spring semester until Feb. 1.

In an open letter to parents and students, the college said in part:

"We have seen multiple surges in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in our area and across the country after the winter holidays and New Year’s Eve, a concerning positivity level that will likely persist into January."

The move follows similar decisions at SUNY Brockport, St. John Fisher College, and Syracuse University.

The college says residence halls open at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan.30. Pre-semester COVID-19 testing (near your home) is required for students before they return to campus. More information can be found here.
