SYRACUSE, N.Y.(WHEC)— Syracuse University is considering a policy that may require students to be vaccinated for COVID-19 by the time they come back to school in the fall.
Campus officials told our Syracuse affiliate that much like the flu shot, they're expecting their students, faculty, and staff to be vaccinated by the next school year, but they did mention there would be medical and religious exemptions.
However, the university did say there's still a lot of work to do on the policy.
Rutgers University, which is in New Jersey, announced it will require students to be vaccinated.
Onondaga County, which is where Syracuse is, has announced plans to allocate doses for students.
