SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WHEC)—Syracuse University is pushing back its spring semester start date by two weeks...

In-person classes will now start on Feb. 8th Instead of Jan. 25, as university chancellor Kent Syverud says pushing the start date back will help minimize the impact of the expected holiday surge on students and staff.

It follows a similar move by St. John Fisher College and SUNY Brockport.

Students that live on campus will begin moving in on Feb. 1.
