5 states added to NY's coronavirus travel advisory

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Five states were added to New York's coronavirus travel advisory, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Tuesday.

Arizona, Minnesota, Nevada, Rhode Island, and Wyoming were added to the list. No areas were dropped from the list.

The following 35 states and territories are on the updated travel advisory:

  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • Delaware
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Guam
  • Idaho
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Minnesota
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • Montana
  • Nebraska
  • Nevada
  • North Carolina
  • North Dakota
  • Oklahoma
  • Puerto Rico
  • Rhode Island
  • South Carolina
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Utah
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia
  • Wisconsin
  • Wyoming

Travelers coming to New York from any of the states and territories on the list will need to quarantine for 14 days. 

Cuomo also announced that New York has conducted 10 million COVID-19 diagnostic tests. Of the 83,997 test results reported to the state Monday, 0.89% were positive. 

In the Finger Lakes region, the percentage of positive test results reported over the last three days is 0.3%.
