ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC is tracking the coronavirus in the surrounding counties in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes area.
In Genesee County, at least five people have died from COVID-19-related causes, 5,323 people have tested positive for the virus. Genesee and Orleans Counties have a shared case map.
In Livingston County, 46 people have died from COVID-19-related causes, 4,743 people have tested positive for the virus four cases are active, and 4,693 people have recovered. The county reports 51.7% of the population has been vaccinated. The county has a case dashboard.
In Ontario County, 112 people have died from COVID-19-related causes, more than 7,500 people have tested positive for COVID-19, three of those cases are new, two people are hospitalized, 100 people are in isolation or quarantine, and 7,293 people have recovered from the virus. In Orleans County, at least 49 people have died and 3,091 people have tested positive for COVID-19. Genesee and Orleans Counties have a shared case map. At least 24 of the dead were connected to the Villages of Orleans Health and Rehabilitation Center.
In Seneca County, 71 people have died from COVID-19-related causes. There are 2,141 confirmed cases of COVID-19, none are active and none are hospitalized, 2,069 people have recovered and 20 are in quarantine and being monitored.
In Steuben County, 190 people have died from COVID-19-related causes. As of July 29, there are 7,001 total confirmed cases, including 27 active cases. More than 44% of eligible residents in the county have received at least one dose of the vaccine. Steuben County has a case map.
In Wayne County, 53 people have died from COVID-19-related causes. The health department reports a total of 5,409 positive cases. Of those cases, 36 are active and one is hospitalized. The county's public health department has demographic information on its website. Of the 53 deaths in Wayne County, at least 17 were residents of the DeMay nursing home.
In Wyoming County, 53 people have died from COVID-19-related causes, 2,795 people have tested positive for the virus, 2,737 people have recovered, five people are in mandatory isolation, and nine people are in mandatory quarantine. As of July 29, the county says 18,644 people, or 55.2% of the population, have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
In Yates County, 25 people have died, 1,273 people have tested positive for COVID-19, one case is active, no people are currently hospitalized, one person is in quarantine and more than 1,200 people have recovered. Yates County has a COVID-19 dashboard.
