ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC is tracking the coronavirus in the surrounding counties in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes area.

Genesee County had a shared case map with Orleans County, but it hasn't been accessible for months. The CDC COVID data tracker has Genesee County listed as "high" transmission.

In Livingston County, 72 people have died with COVID-19, 9,106 people have tested positive for the virus since March 2020, 282 cases are active as of Dec. 31, and 8,752 people have recovered. The county reports 63% of the population has been vaccinated. The county has a case dashboard. The CDC COVID data tracker has Livingston County listed as "high" transmission.

In Ontario County, 149 people have died from COVID-19-related causes, more than 14,000 people have tested positive for COVID-19 since March of 2020, 161 of those cases are new, 40 people are hospitalized, 851 people are in quarantine, and 13,231 people have recovered from the virus. Orleans County had a shared case map with Genesee County, but it hasn't been accessible for months. At least 24 people in Orleans County who have died with COVID-19 were connected to the Villages of Orleans Health and Rehabilitation CenterThe CDC COVID data tracker has Orleans County listed as "high" transmission.

In Seneca County, 83 people have died from COVID-19-related causes. There are 4,069 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 214 are active and 11 are hospitalized, 3,773 people have recovered and N/A are in quarantine and being monitored. The county's public health department has information on its websiteThe CDC COVID data tracker has Seneca County listed as "high" transmission.

In Steuben County, 273 people have died from COVID-19-related causes. As of Dec. 29, there are 250 active cases, including 50 "breakthrough" cases in fully vaccinated people. Steuben County has a case mapThe CDC COVID data tracker has Steuben County listed as "high" transmission.

In Wayne County, 111 people have died from COVID-19-related causes. The health department reports a total of 13,051 positive cases. Of those cases, 985 are active and 25 are hospitalized. Of the 111 deaths in Wayne County, at least 17 were residents of the DeMay nursing home. The CDC COVID data tracker has Wayne County listed as "high" transmission.

In Wyoming County, there have been 74 deaths and 4,924 total cases of COVID-19. There are 80 people in mandatory isolation, 282 in mandatory quarantine and 4,924 people have recovered. The county says 22,417, or 64.2% of residents have been vaccinated. It declared a state of emergency over its COVID-19 numbers on Dec. 1. The CDC COVID data tracker has Wyoming County listed as "high" transmission.

In Yates County, 33 people have died, 2,554 people have tested positive for COVID-19, 72 cases are active, three people are currently hospitalized, 250 people are in quarantine and more than 2,400 people have recovered.
