ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — News10NBC is tracking the coronavirus in the surrounding counties in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes area.

In Genesee County, at least five people have died from COVID-19-related causes, 5,323 people have tested positive for the virus. Genesee and Orleans Counties have a shared case mapThe CDC COVID data tracker has Genesee County listed as "high" transmission.

In Livingston County, 47 people have died from COVID-19-related causes, 5,170 people have tested positive for the virus 144 cases are active, and 4,979 people have recovered. The county reports 55% of the population has been vaccinated. The county has a case dashboard. The CDC COVID data tracker has Livingston County listed as "high" transmission.

In Ontario County, 114 people have died from COVID-19-related causes, more than 8,200 people have tested positive for COVID-19, 32 of those cases are new, four people are hospitalized, 286 people are in isolation or quarantine, and 7,889 people have recovered from the virus. In Orleans County, at least 49 people have died and 3,091 people have tested positive for COVID-19. Genesee and Orleans Counties have a shared case map. At least 24 of the dead were connected to the Villages of Orleans Health and Rehabilitation CenterThe CDC COVID data tracker has Orleans County listed as "high" transmission.

In Seneca County, 72 people have died from COVID-19-related causes. There are 2,413 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 103 are active and four are hospitalized, 2,233 people have recovered and 136 are in quarantine and being monitored. The CDC COVID data tracker has Seneca County listed as "high" transmission.

In Steuben County, 199 people have died from COVID-19-related causes. As of Sept. 20, there are 339 active cases, including 25 "breakthrough" cases in fully vaccinated people. In Wayne County, 59 people have died from COVID-19-related causes. The health department reports a total of 6,561 positive cases. Of those cases, 314  are active, and 17 are hospitalized. The county's public health department has demographic information on its website. Of the 59 deaths in Wayne County, at least 17 were residents of the DeMay nursing home. The CDC COVID data tracker has Wayne County listed as "high" transmission.

The county said Tuesday 17 of its 33 new cases were among children.

In Wyoming County, 54 people have died from COVID-19-related causes,  2,937 people have tested positive for the virus, 2,842 people have recovered, 41  people are in mandatory isolation, and 51 people are in mandatory quarantine. As of Sept. 3, the county says 19,680 people, or 57.7% of the population, have received at least one dose of the vaccine. The CDC COVID data tracker has Wyoming County listed as "high" transmission.

In Yates County, 25 people have died, 1,399 people have tested positive for COVID-19, 48 cases are active, one person is currently hospitalized, 118 people are in quarantine and more than 1,300 people have recovered.
