First confirmed case of COVID-19 announced in Genesee County, 5 under mandatory quarantine in Orleans County

BATAVIA, N.Y. (WHEC) — Genesee County officials announced the area’s first confirmed case of COVID-19.

The Genesee and Orleans County Health Department says the patient is older than 65, and had no known travel to high-risk areas. The patient is under isolation.


There are 11 people under precautionary quarantine and two people under mandatory quarantine in Genesee County as of Tuesday evening.

In Orleans County, five people are under mandatory quarantine. No one in Orleans County is under precautionary quarantine or isolation as of Tuesday evening.
