IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WHEC) — In a week and a half, Seabreeze Amusement Park will open up to the public for the first time in almost two years.
News10NBC's Emily Putnam got a sneak peek Wednesday at what it will look like this summer.
Not a lot has changed visually inside the park. You'll still see all of your favorite rides, games, and food vendors. The main thing that's changing this year is how many people you will see inside.
Before you get to the front gate at Seabreeze, the first thing you will see is an employee asking to take your temperature, which is required for all guests to enter the park.
Guests will be asked a couple of quick health questions. Once you're inside, the park will look mostly the same as it did before the pandemic.
All of the games and all of the rides that people are used to seeing will be back this summer, but guests will have to maintain six feet of social distancing.
The Screamin' Eagle will be the only ride in the park that will have some seats roped off for social distancing. Other rides may have rules about who can sit together.
Seabreeze's overall strategy this season is to start with less than 33% capacity and slowly increase the number of people allowed into the park throughout the summer.
The rides portion of the park is scheduled to open Saturday, May 22. Click here to plan your visit.
