Monroe County creates COVID isolation flowchart

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Monroe County has simplified its guidance on what to do if you’re exposed to or test positive for COVID-19.

The Monroe County Department of Public Health made a flow chart showing people what to do if they have symptoms versus if they don’t or if they get a traditional test versus an at-home test.

Those who are exposed and have symptoms are supposed to isolate and get tested.

Those who don’t have symptoms but aren’t fully vaccinated or who are eligible for the booster shot but haven’t received it yet are supposed to quarantine for five days, then wear a well-fitting mask for five more.

Those who don’t have symptoms and are fully vaccinated and who have received the booster if they’re eligible or who are ineligible for the booster aren’t required to quarantine but are advised to wear a well-fitting mask for 10 days.

Resources to report a positive at-home test result or get isolation or quarantine orders are available on the county’s website.
