ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — New York State’s Division of Consumer Protection Monday offered parents and kids some guidance as Halloween nears.

It suggests trying to incorporate a face mask into kis’ costumes and trick-or-treating in small groups.

As far as handing out candy goes, it says don’t pick candy out of a bowl or receive it from someone’s hand — consider putting candy out in individual goodie bags.

For those hosting Halloween parties, it suggests keeping them small and holding them outdoors.
