NEWARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Newark Central School District will be going fully remote after a recent increase in coronavirus infections.
In a letter sent out to families and staff, the district says they've continued to see an increase of cases, and while the district says that schools are not the primary source of the spread the resulting quarantines have risen to an "unacceptable level."
The district says in the letter that most specifically they are having staffing issues because of the quarantines, including at the Middle School, where nearly 40 students and eight staff members were out due to COVID-related issues.
The all-virtual schedule will begin Wednesday and go through next Tuesday.
